What we did this winter season: maintenance updates

While Mallorca was enjoying its quiet, sunny winter slumber, things inside our hotel were anything but sleepy. In fact, this past winter has been one of our busiest yet.

Usually, when we say goodbye to our last guests of the season, there is a moment of quiet. But this year, the silence didn't last long. We rolled up our sleeves almost immediately because we had a clear mission: to make your 2026 stay better, safer, and more comfortable than ever before.

We know that for you, a holiday is about relaxation. But for us, the winter "break" is the only time we can tackle the big, messy, essential jobs that keep the hotel running smoothly. We want to share what we’ve been up to, not just to show off our hard work, but to show you how much we care about your experience here.

Here is the story of our winter renovation.

Powering Up: A Complete Electrical Overhaul

Let’s start with the invisible but crucial work. You might not see it when you flick a light switch or charge your phone, but the "veins" of the hotel have been completely renewed.

This year, we decided it was time for a full refurbishment of the hotel's electricity system. We didn't just do a patch job; we went all in. We replaced the general electricity panels for the entire building to ensure stability and safety.

But we didn’t stop there. We went into every single room and renewed the individual electrical panels as well. It’s one of those updates that isn't "glamorous" or "Instagrammable," but it is vital. It means reliability and safety, ensuring that the infrastructure supporting your stay is as modern and robust as possible.

A Fresh Look: Painting Corridors and Rooms

After the dusty work of electrical rewiring, we needed to bring the sparkle back. There is nothing quite like the smell and look of fresh paint to make a space feel brand new.

We spent weeks painting the corridors and guest rooms. We wanted to wash away the wear and tear of the previous seasons and ensure that when you walk to your room, everything feels crisp, clean, and welcoming. The fresh coats of paint have brightened up the spaces beautifully, reflecting the natural light that floods in from the sea.

The Big Project: Listening to You About the Bathrooms

This was our biggest challenge and our proudest achievement this winter.

We have always been proud of our sea view rooms, especially since their bathrooms were renovated recently. However, we believe in transparency, and we read every single review you write. We noticed a pattern: while you loved the location and the service, guests staying in our side sea view and no sea view rooms were not as happy with their bathrooms.

We heard you loud and clear.

So, we focused our energy and budget on completely reforming these older bathrooms. This wasn't just a cosmetic facelift. We stripped them back and installed fresh, new plumbing accessories and beautiful new tiles.

Perhaps the most difficult but important part of this task was cleaning and tidying up the risers (the vertical shafts that carry water and pipes). This is deep, structural cleaning that ensures everything works perfectly and stays hygienic behind the scenes.

Now, regardless of which room category you book, you can expect a fresh, modern, and fully functional bathroom. We are thrilled to have fixed this gap in our quality, ensuring every guest gets the standard they deserve.

The Little Details That Matter

While the hammers and drills were busy, we didn't forget the softer side of hospitality. We know that comfort lies in the details.

We have updated our stock of linen and towels. There is nothing better after a shower in a newly renovated bathroom than wrapping yourself in a fresh, fluffy towel. We’ve also been experimenting in the kitchen. When you come down for breakfast this season, you’ll find some delicious new items on the buffet menu. We can’t wait for you to try them!

A Labor of Love

When you see these changes, you might imagine a huge construction crew swarming the hotel. But the reality is much more personal.

This renovation was a true labor of love, carried out almost entirely by ourselves and our one dedicated maintenance guy. It was a small team with a massive heart. We spent our winter days covered in dust, paint, and plaster, working tirelessly because we love this place and we love hosting you.

Every tile laid and every wall painted has a personal touch behind it. It was hard work, but standing here now, looking at the finished result, it was worth every moment.

Ready for the 2026 Season

As we sweep up the last of the dust and put the tools away, we feel a renewed sense of energy. The hotel feels fresh, the systems are humming, and the rooms are waiting for you.

We are officially ready to start the new 2026 season. Whether you are a returning friend or a new guest, we can’t wait to welcome you and show you what we’ve done with the place.

See you soon in Mallorca!
